Course Title: Professional Makeup Artist
Duration: You choose from one or two days - 10am until 5pm each day. If you choose the 2 day option then the second day will be the day directly after day 1 in the calendar
Previous experience needed: None
What will you receive:
- 1 or 2 Full days practical training covering 4 full makeup looks
- Starter brush kit
- Electronic training manual
- ABT accredited certificate
Over the course of the two practical days you be will expected to attend the academy to complete 2 practical looks or 4 if attending for both days. This will be intense training covering soft and heavy more technical glam. On your practical training days you will watch a demonstration from a senior artist at the academy and then be given the chance to recreate this look on your model with constant guidance. You will need a model for this course.
Your last look will be your practical assessment where you will use all of the knowledge you have learnt to recreate the look with minimal guidance whilst you are assessed throughout.
Types of looks we will complete include;
Day 1
- Natural / Soft glam - also suitable for Prom / Bridal
- Evening glam / Smokey eyes - perfect for an occasion or date night
Day 2
- Festival glam - Bright colours and something a bit more funky
- Technical/Heavy glam - Something to test your abilities a little more
You will have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like throughout and receive advice on how to take photos, how to use social media for business & client care.

On the day of your practical training all of the makeup that you need to use will be provided for you in our extensive professional kit. We will discuss products as well as advising you of where to purchase these from and also advise you of alternative dupe / drug store products.

Once you have completed the practical course you will receive a Leanne Slater Studios certificate which is accredited by ABT insurance. By completing this course you will be able to obtain insurance and apply for professional discounts from brands such as MAC, NARS, Illamasqua, Urban Decay, Charlotte Tilbury & more!
Frequently Asked Questions
How do i book? This course can be paid for in full at the checkout. We accept all major debit/credit cards. Alternatively we now offer multiple finance payment options option at the checkout too. If you wish to pay part finance and part another method of payment for example cash or online banking transfer then please contact us direct so that we can arrange this with yourself.
Is there any pre study required for this course? No, we cover everything you need to know whilst you are in the academy. Upon completion of the course you will be sent an electronic training manual which you can refer back to as and when you need to.
How old do i need to be to take this course? You must be 16 or over to complete this course.
Do i need to provide my own models? Yes, please contact us to arrange this. If you are unable to provide a model please let us know as soon as possible so we can look to source one for you.
What if i need to cancel? Please contact us via email as soon as possible if you need to reschedule your training course. We require a minimum of 10 calendar days before your course is due to begin. You will be able to change the date of your course only once and if the correct notice is given. We do not give refunds. In exceptional circumstances where this notice can not be given, a fee will be required to reschedule. This charge is dependant on the longevity of the course and will be discussed via email.
Will there be a break during the practical session? Yes, there will be a break for lunch. Lunch is not provided but you are able to either go out or bring something with you. There are shops close by also. Light refreshments are also provided in the academy throughout the course of the training.
Where will the training be held? All training (unless. stated otherwise upon booking) is held at Leanne Slater Studios - Training Academy 19 Acorn Street Stoke Aldermoor Coventry CV3 1DP. There is free unlimited parking directly to the front of the studio and on the streets in the surrounding area.
How can i give feedback on my training? Your feedback is super important to us. If you would like to leave us feedback on your experience please contact us and we can send you a link to do this. Should you for any reason be unhappy with your course you must inform us in writing within 48 hours of completing the course to discuss options. Any complaint received after this time will be dealt with appropriately but no refund will be given.
I would like to take this course but i cant find a suitable date, what shall i do? Please contact us and we will be able to check the calendar for you to find a suitable date.
Do you offer 1:1 training? Yes we do. All dates advertised online however are available for multiple people to book so we ask if you would prefer a 1:1 session please contact us and we can arrange this.
