Student code of conduct and training day expectations Policy - Leanne Slater Studios Academy
1. Attendance and Punctuality
Students must attend the full course on the dates and times booked.
Late arrival may result in refusal of entry to the course without refund or reschedule. This is due to potentially missing crucial parts of the training.
Late arrival does not entitle the student to a refund, reschedule or certificate. It is the students responsibility to ensure they are punctual.
2. Professional Dress code
Students must present themselves in a professional manner at all times. This includes:
- Clean professional appropriate attire required suitable for practical training
- Closed toe shoes
- Hair tied back
- Minimal jewellery
- Good personal hygiene
The academy reserves the right to refuse training if dress code or hygiene standards are not met.
3. Professional behaviour
Students are expected to:
- Respect tutors, staff, models and other students at all times
- Follow tutor instructions promptly
- Maintain a professional learning environment
Disruptive, disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour will result in removal from training without refund or reschedule.
4. Mobile phones, recording and Intellectual property
- Mobile phones must be on silent during training
- Recording, photographing or filming is not permitted unless explicitly authorised by the tutor
- All course materials remain the intellectual property of the academy and are for personal use only
- Course content is not to be copied, shared, taught or distributed
5. Fitness to train, Alcohol and Drugs
- Students must arrive fit to train
- Alcohol or drugs are strictly prohibited
- Students taking medication that may affect concentration or dexterity must inform the academy prior to training
The academy reserves the right to refuse training if the student is deemed unfit to safely participate.
6. Health, Safety and Hygiene
- Students must follow all health, safety and hygiene protocols
- PPE must be worn where required
- Unsafe practice will result in immediate tutor intervention
7. Practical Competency and Tutor Authority
- Tutors may stop, modify or take over a treatment at any time for safety or quality reasons
- Tutor intervention does not guarantee certification
- Tutor decisions regarding safety, competency and conduct are final
8. Models
Students are required to source their own models for all Beauty Courses. This includes
- Eyelash Extensions
- Eyelash Lifting
- Eyebrow Lamination
- Eyebrow Wax and Tint
- Eyebrow Henna
Students are responsible for ensuring their models meet suitability criteria. Late, unsuitable or non attending models may result in missed practical work. No refunds, reschedules or extensions will be offered due to model issues.
If you are unable to provide your own model/s then you must inform the academy no later than 10 calendar days before your start date and a fee of £10 per model is to be paid via online banking transfer so that we can source them for you.
The academy sources models for the following courses:
- Facial Training
- Aesthetics / Needle Training
Students must treat models professionally
Any inappropriate behaviour towards models will result in immediate removal from the course with no refund or reschedule.
9. Certification and Competency Assessment
Attendance on a course does not automatically guarantee certification
Certificates are issued only to students who in the tutors professional judgement have:
- Attended the full course
- Arrived on time
- Demonstrated safe and professional practice
- Completed practical work to an acceptable standard
- Followed academy rules and tutor instructions
- Completed any required pre study
Tutor decisions regarding competency and certification are final. Where certification is withheld the academy may, at its discretion, offer additional training or assessment at an additional cost. No refunds will be provided.
10. Additional Assessment or Training
Where certification is withheld, the academy may at its discretion offer the student the opportunity to undertake additional assessment or training.
- This is not guaranteed and is offered on a case by case basis
- Any additional assessment or training will incur an additional fee to cover tutor time, models and administration
- If offered, the student will be contacted via email with further details
No refunds will be provided if certification is withheld or refused.
11. Social Media and Reputation
- Students must not post defamatory, misleading or damaging content about the academy, staff or other students
- Academy branding must not be used without permission
- Breaches may result in removal from training and withholding of certification
12. Right to refuse training or Certification
The academy reserves the right to:
- Refuse entry / training
- Remove a student from training
- Withhold certification
Where a student fails to comply with this Code of Conduct no refunds or reschedule will be offered in these circumstances.
13. Agreement to Terms
By booking training, students confirm they have read, understood and agreed to comply with this Student code of conduct.
